Hi, I’m Rachel. My friends call me Rae.

I was born and raised in Palm Springs, CA.

I spent four years at The University of Oregon and graduated in a Pandemic.

Naturally, I moved back home to figure things out during quarantine.

I knew I wanted to move back to Oregon… or somewhere NEW!

That somewhere new was Colorado!

why pilates?

In 2020, I started my Pilates journey.

Like many others, I leaned into at-home workouts during the shutdown. I was watching YouTube videos and came across some short matwork sessions.

One day, I was visiting my papa and did a matwork pilates session outside. When I came in, my aunt asked me if I’ve ever done reformer pilates before.

my response was, “What the heck is a reformer?”

The next day, she took me to my very first reformer class. When we ended with feet in straps, I knew in that moment I had to figure out how to do this for a living.

why retreats?

In 2017, people from my hometown started asking my parents if they could have their wedding ceremonies in my parents’ backyard. Over the years, the demand started to increase. The couples reaching out shifted from friends, to friends of friends, and then strangers.

I watched as my childhood home slowly turned into a wedding venue, Andreas Oasis. I got to attend quite a few as a guest, a wedding planner, and even the maid of honor for my best friends wedding.

What a lot of the people attending these weddings don’t know about is the history of this property. In 2011, the house burnt down to the ground. It was a tradegy, to say the least. It took years of investigations, fire insurance claims, and lawsuits to even start rebuilding in 2016.

When people see the house for the first time, they are in awe of its beauty and automatically have their assumptions about my family, how I grew up, or how much money we have.

What they don’t see is all of the hard work it took to get here AND to maintain.

When I see this house, I see so much more than its material things.

I see all my childhood memories, from Kindergarten to Christmas, to sleepovers and soccer parties, to my dad putting the boat in the pool and taking a family Christmas card photo…

I see the traumatic experiences that each individual member of my family dealt with because of the fire.

And I see the resilience of it all.

I watched my parents build this house from start to finish, twice.

So long story short, I have this deep desire to transition Andreas Oasis from a wedding venue into a retreat venue. It brings so much joy to see people truly appreciating the property for what it is.

I see my inner child in them as their jaws drops from the astounding views of the Coachella Valley.

Hearing the sounds of the waterfalls.

Walking barefoot in the grass.

Watching the full moon rise over the mountains.

Hearing the birds singing in the early morning.

Jumping in the pool after taking a steam sauna.

Walking around the perimeter and just noticing things.

The shape of the clouds, the shadows of the canyons, the sounds of the breeze, the butterflies and bunny rabbits.

I hosted my first retreat here in February of 2023. I want to continue hosting retreats here to share this beautiful and healing experience with those who didn’t know this existed.

I watched my parents be some of the best hosts you could imagine.

I learned from them how to make people feel welcome, tend to everyone’s needs, and go beyond expectations.

I feel like the weddings miss out on the true magic of Andreas Oasis. I have over 20+ years of experience with this property. I know how to handle any issue that can arise and solve it with grace.

Andreas Oasis is just that house that everyone wants to be at.

So here I am, inviting you in.
